Digital Library Developer

 

Salary from £34,156 to £41,317 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £44,456 pa inclusive

 

LSE Library is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled developer to take forward a range of innovative work devoted to making available its world-class social science collections via its online Digital Library.  As a National Research Library, the Library is dedicated to expanding its digital presence, promoting its online collections and ensuring their long-term preservation. The Digital Library Developer will play a key role in selecting, implementing and developing systems and software to enable this.

 

Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent in computer science, library science or a related discipline, or have significant demonstrable experience. They should also have good working knowledge and practical understanding of web development languages such as HTML, HTML5, Javascript or CSS. Experience in software development, ideally in several programming languages, and specifically in Ruby using the Ruby on Rails framework is desirable but not essential.
