Salary from £34,156 to £41,317 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £44,456 pa inclusive

 

The South Asia Centre at the London School of Economics seeks to appoint an experienced editor for its blog, South Asia @ LSE. The Centre covers research, activities and events on all topics related to Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

 

The Editor will run and moderate the South Asia @ LSE blog, which takes the form of a blog incorporating podcasts and videos with social media feeds from Twitter/Facebook, as well as the Centre’s Twitter and Facebook accounts. The Editor will have sole & complete responsibility to ensure that the blog, Twitter and Facebook accounts are in sync with information and publicity of the Centre’s activities and events.

 

Candidates should have excellent written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex ideas into simple and immediately accessible prose. They should have a proven ability to proactively liaise with a range of potential content providers and consumers. They should have the technical ability to develop and run a blog and engage with web 2.0 technologies. They should be aware of social science and key global issues, particularly those with a South Asian dimension.
