Postdoctoral Research Officer

Salary from £36,647 to £44,140 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £47,456 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months

LSE’s Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science is committed to developing the School’s role as a world leader in the researching and teaching of psychological and behavioural science. In the coming years, the department will become a hub for the 50+ psychological and behavioural researchers in other disciplines across the LSE as well as a cutting-edge centre of expertise in its own right.

This postdoc position is for someone who is embarking on a coherent research strategy in human behaviour and wellbeing, who is aiming to produce outstanding quality publications in well recognised leading peer reviewed outlets.

The postholder will contribute to the development of preference-based and wellbeing-based measures of individual and social welfare. The postholder will develop and carry forward a coherent research strategy in their discipline which has national and international impact.

Candidates should have a PhD in economics, behavioural economics, psychology, or a related discipline where welfare assessment and/or economic appraisal formed a key part. The PhD should be awarded, or near completion to have been defended successfully by the post start date. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, with a good command of the English language both orally and in writing. The successful candidate will have the ability to conduct high-quality research and publish in journals of international standing.
