Research Fellow in Public Policy  

 

Salary from £46,100 to £53,295 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £59,354 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed term appointment for two years with the option to renew for a third year by mutual agreement.

 

The LSE School of Public Policy was founded in September 2018. Its degree portfolio consists of a two-year Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree, a one-year Master of Public Policy (MPP), double degrees and executive masters degrees.

 

To expand its international reach and to broaden the perspectives of its study, the School of Public Policy has entered into an agreement with the Institute for Global Public Policy of Fudan University to build on the missions and outstanding expertise of both institutions.

 

We are now seeking two Research Fellows to join the LSE-Fudan Institute for Global Public Policy. As well as undertaking their own high-quality research and scholarship in their particular discipline and fields, the post-holder will foster and promote research collaborations between LSE scholars and those at Fudan. These are research positions without teaching responsibilities; any teaching would be subject to separate agreement. However, the successful candidates will be expected to participate in events and other activity to enrich the student experience.

 

Candidates for this post should have research interests in fields of empirical social science relevant to the work of the School of Public Policy including public policy and management, social policy, international development, global health, environmental policy. Research that incorporates global or comparative perspectives is essential, preferably including the study of China.

 

Candidates should hold, or be demonstrably close to the completion of, a PhD in the field of empirical social science including social public policy, management, international development, global health and environmental policy. Candidates will also need a very good knowledge of the application of social science to policy-making with a developing research record in empirical social science related to public policy that incorporates global or comparative perspectives.

 

Candidates will need to work collaboratively across LSE departments and partner institutions to promote research collaborations as well as a commitment to supporting and enhancing the student experience within the School of Public Policy. S/he will require excellent written and oral communication skills and a commitment to equality and diversity.
