Montague Burton Chair of International Relations
Salary is competitive and not less than £83,832 pa inclusive
The Department of International Relations wishes to appoint a new Montague Burton Chair of International Relations. The Montague Burton Chair was established in 1934 and is one of the oldest International Relations Chairs in the United Kingdom.
We invite applications from eminent scholars of outstanding international reputation in International Relations, with a proven record of influential publications and leadership in the discipline. The successful candidate will have: published work of the highest quality in top-ranked scholarly journals and university presses; a strong intellectual vision for the field’s future development; a clear and viable strategy for future outstanding research and publication; and a significant track record of excellence in teaching in one or more of the main areas of teaching covered by the Department. Candidates should have a completed PhD in International Relations, Political Science or a closely related subject. The successful candidate should also have a record in providing intellectual leadership in advancing scholarly research, have experience of and a commitment to supervise PhD and Masters students and have experience of advancing PhD training and placement. The post holder should have the potential ability to provide leadership in effective departmental administration and contribute to strategic decision-making in the Department.
