Hellenic Observatory Administrator
Salary from £25,181 to £28,304 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £30,451 pa inclusive of London allowance (pro rata)
This is a part-time (0.5FTE), fixed term appointment for 12 months
The Hellenic Observatory is a research unit based in the LSE’s European Institute.
The Hellenic Observatory was set up in October 1996. Its aim is to promote the study of contemporary Greece and Cyprus via research-related activities, and a public events programme related to these.
The Administrator’s main duties include the provision of administrative support to the HO team, being first point of contact for external enquiries and responsibility for general office duties. Assisting with the HO events programme, the visiting fellowship programme and coordinating the termly planning meetings and minute taking.
Candidates should have
- Extensive experience in office administration
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Experience in copy-editing and production of publications.
- Fluent knowledge of Greek both written and spoken.
- A first or second university degree in a relevant discipline such as the social sciences or humanities would be desirable
