Salary from £34,156 to £41,317 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £44,456 pa inclusive

 

This is a fixed term appointment until 31st December 2018

 

LSE Cities seeks to appoint a Research Officer to work on research preparations and development for the next Urban Age research programme, focussing primarily on the theme of the interface between formal and informal urban structures and services, and digital technology and local needs.

 

Candidates should have a PhD in Geography, Urban Science, Urban Planning or a related discipline.  They should be able to provide evidence of a background in, or understanding of, the research themes required of the post, in particular related to urban developments in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

 

The ability to analyse and research complex ideas, concepts or theories and apply appropriate methodologies, alongside excellent communications skills, are essential.
