Office Coordinator
Salary from £25,685 to £28,871 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £31,060 pa inclusive
The Department of Statistics has an international reputation for development of statistical methodology that has grown from its long history of active contributions to research and teaching in statistics for the social sciences. We are a growing department, currently with twenty six permanent academic faculty, three research staff, and six professional services staff, as well as a large team of Graduate Teaching Assistants.
The Department is seeking a highly committed and motivated Office Coordinator to work with the Departmental Professional Services team. You will provide professional administrative support to two Programme Managers, the Finance and Research Manager, Events and Communications Officer, and the Department Manager. In addition, you will support the Teaching Committee, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committees, as well as academic staff members. You will also play a key role in coordinating the Department’s activities to improve the student experience.
You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to deal with people at all levels and strong IT skills. Previous relevant experience, preferably working in a Higher Education setting is essential.
The role also requires a high level of planning and organising your workload, and balancing the needs of individuals whilst managing their expectations. Experience and knowledge of maintaining websites and of organising seminars or events is desirable.
