Professor of Socio-Legal Studies
Salary is competitive and not less than £86,195pa inclusive
To support our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes and to strengthen further our research profile, the Department of Law is seeking to appoint a senior academic colleague with an outstanding reputation who has made and will continue to make a significant contribution to the discipline.
Applications are sought from outstanding candidates with a reputation for excellence in the field of Socio-Legal Studies and a substantial body of influential publications. You should have a track record of producing publications of the highest quality (at least two of which will be world leading), as well as a clear, well developed and viable strategy for outstanding research that will result in further world-leading publications. You should have a track record of providing leadership in advancing research and teaching, with the potential ability to provide leadership and contribute to strategic decision-making in the Department.
Applicants should have a significant track record of excellence in the teaching in law or law-related subjects and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students at all levels. The successful applicant will participate in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and will be expected to take on senior administrative responsibilities within the Department and the School, as well as mentoring and offering career development support to junior colleagues.
