Centre for Economic Performance

Economic Policy Communications Manager

Salary from £34,736 to £42,019 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for three years, in the first instance

LSE’s Centre for Economic Performance (CEP), one of Europe’s leading economic research centres, is seeking an experienced Economic Policy Communications Manager to keep CEP’s research at the forefront of media, public and policy attention.

This is a challenging post: you will have strong economic policy analytical skills, an understanding of how evidence is used in social science, and experience of writing persuasively and “translating” academic or technical material for a range of non-technical audiences. You will have the confidence to work alongside, encourage and question our 70 academics, researchers and postgrads in disseminating our economic policy work, as well as possessing an active interest in a varied policy agenda and how to further influence the Centre’s impact.

The job also entails managing our web content; maintaining good communications with the university, key journalists, media and funders; running our social media and acting on your analysis of media uptake of our content to improve its reach; and overseeing production of our in-house magazine, Centrepiece. Ability to use a range of web, communications, analytical tools and design software is essential. Proven writing and editing skills are a must, and a strong demonstrable command of written and spoken English is essential.

The post will start as soon as possible. Interviews will take place in late August. Please upload a CV and an accompanying letter detailing how your experience fulfils the requirements of the post. Further enquiries can be made to Nigel Rogers on: n.rogers@lse.ac.uk / 020 7955 7596.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, the job description and the person specification.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 19 August 2018 (23.59 UK time). Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications.
