Senior Events Officer

 

Salary from £28,241 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £32,689 pa inclusive

 

Fixed-term contract until 30 September 2018, with further extension anticipated (subject to funding)

 

 

The International Growth Centre (IGC) aims to promote sustainable growth in developing countries by providing demand-led policy advice based on frontier research. IGC hosts a series of ambitious events in the UK and in Africa and South Asia that bring together some of the top academics in the world with senior policymakers from our partner country governments. These events engage policymakers and other stakeholders with IGC ideas and research findings on economic growth and provide a forum for networking and matchmaking.

 

The Senior Events Officer will be responsible for all IGC UK-based events, managing and organising conferences, public lectures, seminars, and talks; ensuring events are well planned and run smoothly to budget. The role will also provide expert advice and support to IGC events held abroad, through working closely with IGC staff in our partner countries, and general communications support for the IGC. This is a full-time position based in the IGC Hub at LSE, in central London. Some international travel is anticipated.  

 

The successful applicant will

  • Have a passion for and experience in event organisation.
  • Be highly organised and remain calm under pressure.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively and confidently with all levels.
  • Have initiative and drive.
  • Work well in a team with a flexible approach.
