Blog Editor and Communications Manager
Salary from £35,999 to £43,360 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £46,617 pa inclusive of London allowance
The Blog Editor and Communications Manager is a central to supporting the Firoz Lalji Centre for Africa (FLCA)’s vision, the Centre is committed to and strives to increase the visibility and representation of Africa in the LSE’s teaching, research, and policy engagement. The role acts as a key facilitator to connecting those who work on Africa across the School through the organisation of events, disseminating LSE research on Africa through the blog, and managing the communications with the Centre’s wider network.
FLCA is looking for an experienced, motivated, organised, responsible and personable blog editor and communications manager who will be responsible for all aspects of the Centre’s blog such as commission, editing and posting blogs for the Centre’s Africa@LSE blog and have the ability to translate any complex academic ideas into widely accessible material. Furthermore, the post holder will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and updating the Centre’s communication strategy.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to produce materials for a wide range of audiences; keen attention to detail; the ability to demonstrable knowledge of current African political, economic and social affairs; and have proven experience of writing and editing for online and print formats.
