Assistant Professor in Psychological and Behavioural Science
Salary is competitive with peer institutions and commensurate with experience, taking into account pay equity within the Department. The salary scale starts at £54,984 per annum (pay award pending) and can be found on the LSE website
In addition to the salary, this post may attract significant pay supplements.
The Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science teaches and conducts cutting-edge research that is both based in and applied to the real world. We are looking for someone who is on the path to becoming a world-leading specialist in a core area of psychological and behavioural science, such as (but not limited to) developmental psychology or personality and individual differences, and who can forge strong inter-disciplinary links across the school. The successful candidate will not only be an outstanding researcher, but also an inspirational teacher who will be a core part of the team that positions our new BSc in Psychological and Behavioural Science as a leading global degree that attracts the best students from across the UK and around the world.
The post holder will be expected to play a major role in ensuring the success of the new BSc in Psychological and Behavioural Science. The LSE is committed to research-based education, and the principal teaching focus will be to deliver core training in the post-holder’s area of research expertise, such as in developmental psychology, personality and individual differences.
Candidates should have expertise and research interests in Psychological and Behavioural Science, with a completed PhD by or near the post start date. They should have the ability to teach Psychological and Behavioural Science at undergraduate levels, and a track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications. They should also have a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications, and an ability to engage in knowledge exchange.
