LSE Fellow in Quantitative Methodology

 

Salary from £34,156 – £41,317 pa inclusive

 

Fixed-term from 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2018

 

The Department of Methodology at LSE coordinates and provides a focus for methodological activities and graduate student training at the School. The Department is an interdisciplinary group, with faculty working in the disciplines of sociology, anthropology, political science, statistics, social psychology and criminology.

 

We are seeking to appoint an individual with established research interests in research methodology or any social science discipline to a fixed-term faculty appointment in the subject area of Quantitative Methodology.

 

The principal teaching role is to contribute to graduate-level courses in quantitative methodology and/or research design. The LSE Fellow will contribute actively to the life of the Department of Methodology, enjoy working as part of a team, and possess the ability to adapt to its varying demands. Candidates should have completed their PhD by the time they take up the post.

 

Candidates should have:

  • A developing record of research in a social science discipline or quantitative research methodology
  • Experience of teaching quantitative research methods
  • Commitment to high quality teaching and course development
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position.  As such, applicants who have already been employed as a LSE Fellow for three years in total are not eligible to apply.
