Salary from £33,784 to £40,867 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £43,973 pa inclusive

 

Working with around 2,500 young people each year Widening Participation at LSE delivers a comprehensive Programme of activity to meet LSE’s commitments within the School’s Access Agreement and LSE Strategy 2020. The Widening Participation Officer line manages up to two members of staff in the Team and plays a vital role in both delivering as well as overseeing the development of key elements of our WP Programme. In the first instance this will include lead responsibility for our flagship LSE CHOICE project. The vacancy arises at an exciting time to join the Team as widening participation goes through a period of development. The post-holder will play an important part in this process. Candidates should have:

  • Knowledge of UK education, especially the schools and higher education sectors; and widening participation issues
  • Ability to work with people at all levels including academics, teachers and pupils, plus an enjoyment of working with children of all ages
  • Experience of managing and delivering projects on time and to budget
  • Experience of developing and managing staff, ensuring standards and aims are met.
