Assistant Professor in Mathematics

 

Salary is competitive with Departments at our peer institutions worldwide
and not less than £53,905 pa inclusive

 

The Department of Mathematics at LSE seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor.  For this post, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in a subject area related to the Mathematics of Operations Research. You will contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in high quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department, and participating in the School and wider Department activities.

 

The successful candidate will have an established track-record or trajectory of research at a level of international excellence, will be able to teach mathematics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will have a commitment to excellence in teaching.  You will contribute to the general work of the department, including the teaching of a range of courses.  You will maintain an active programme of research in mathematics and will have a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research.  You will have a PhD in a mathematical subject (or be close to completing one) by the intended start date of 1st September 2018.
