Assistant Professor in International Relations Theory

 

Salary is competitive with Departments at our peer institutions worldwide and not less than £53,905pa inclusive of London allowance

 

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Professor in International Relations Theory.

 

Based in the Department of International Relations, the post holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in high quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department, and participating in the School and wider Department activities.

 

All candidates must have a research interest in international relations theory and must also show a clear and viable strategy for future top quality research. We are open with respect to theoretical and methodological approaches.

 

Candidates will need a completed PhD, or be close to obtaining one, in International Relations or a related field by 1 September 2019. Candidates should also have a proven or developing record of publications in refereed international journals or with highly-respected book publishers based on research that is, or has the potential to be, internationally excellent and, ideally, world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour. Some experience of teaching International Relations Theory at undergraduate or postgraduate level is desirable.

 

Successful candidates should have excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across the School.
