Department of Social Policy

 

Assistant Professors in International Social and Public Policy (2 Posts)

 

Salary is no less than £54,984 per annum (pay award pending) and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website

 

 

Following the retirement of several faculty members, and consolidation of its BSc and MSc degree programmes, the Department seeks talented individuals keen to help it further develop its renowned strengths in social and public policy.

The post holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in high quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department, and participating in the School and wider Department activities.

 

Candidates should have expertise and research interests in social and public policy analysis, and a completed PhD (or be close to obtaining one) in social and public policy or a related area by the post start date. They must have a track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications, plus proven ability or potential to publish in top journals or with leading book publishers. Also required is a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications, together with the ability to establish an international reputation. Candidates must have the ability to teach core and specialist courses in international social and public policy at BSc, MSc, and PhD levels, and also have a commitment to high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students, including pastoral care.
