Assistant Professor in International History (Modern European History)

Salary is no less than £54,984 per annum (pay award pending) and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website 

 

This appointment is due to commence on 2nd September 2019

 

 

The Department of International History is seeking to make an appointment for an Assistant Professor.  The role holder will be expected to offer new courses at undergraduate and Masters level in Modern European History, c. 1870-1945. They will also be expected to conduct and publish outstanding quality research.

 

We are seeking exceptional candidates with outstanding research potential and a developing record of publications in Modern European History in the period specified. The research interests of candidates will need to show a global, international, transnational or comparative perspective.

 

You will have a completed PhD in History by 2nd September 2019. You will also have expertise and research interests in modern European history, c. 1870-1945 (excluding British history); a track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications and a proven ability, as evidenced by existing publications, or potential to publish in top journals, or with leading book publishers, in history. You will have a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications; and the ability to teach history at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the area advertised.
