The International Growth Centre (IGC)
IGC Hub Administrator
Salary: £24,760 to £27,831 per annum
(Fixed term contract until 31st March 2018, with extension subject to funding)
The International Growth Centre (IGC) aims to promote sustainable growth in developing countries by providing demand-led policy advice based on frontier research. The Centre directs a global network of world-class researchers in economics, political economy and related disciplines, and a set of 15 country teams across Africa and Asia. Based at LSE and in partnership with the University of Oxford, the IGC is initiated and funded by DFID.
The IGC Hub Administrator plays a key role in maintaining an efficient and effective working environment in the IGC London office. Responsibilities include providing administrative support to London staff, logistical support for both London and internationally-based IGC colleagues, and facilitating meetings.
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience of working in an administrative role
- Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work with limited supervision and use own initiative
- Evidence of attending to detail while producing timely work within deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise own workload in order to consistently meet deadlines, often under pressure
This is a full-time position based in the IGC Head Office located within the LSE, in central London. The role will be offered on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2018, with extension anticipated, subject to funding. Starting salary will be £24,760 with progression in role. Exceptional candidates may start further up the salary band.
