Policy Analyst

 

Salary from £36,647 to £47,456 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years

 

The Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics is pleased to invite applications to the above post.

 

The appointee will contribute to the implementation of the Institute’s policy analysis strategy, particularly on international climate policy and public and private climate finance. Undertaking a range of policy analysis activities, including horizon-scanning, roundtable meetings, workshops, the post holder will help to maximise the external impact and visibility of the Institute and its work in formulating policy materials aimed at decision-makers in the public, private and third sectors. They will evaluate and report to funders on the impact of some of the Institute’s key policy analysis activities. The appointee will play an active intellectual role in the life of the Institute, manage policy analysis projects and build and maintain a network of decision makers that the Institute will engage with.

 

Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in environmental policy, energy policy, environmental economics, economics, international relations or a related field. They should also have strong analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality policy analysis in a timely manner, and experience of writing for and engaging with decision-makers in the public, private or third sector about climate-related issues. Working both independently and as part of a team within the Grantham Research Institute and across relevant research groups, the post holder will have a positive approach to collaborative team working.
