Research Officer

Salary £43,277 to £51,714pa inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497pa inclusive of London allowance.

This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 3 years

 

We invite applications for a Research Officer to join EuroHeartPath, a major European initiative transforming cardiovascular care pathways. The project brings together 38 partners from academia, healthcare, industry, and patient organisations to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease across Europe. LSE Health leads the health economics, ethics, and policy work package.

 

The aim of our work is to evaluate the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of new technologies – such as AI-driven diagnostics, digital health tools, point-of-care testing, and robotic imaging – and to develop policy roadmaps for their adoption across diverse health systems.

 

Working independently under the guidance of senior researchers at LSE Health, you will:

1.     Design and implement economic evaluations embedded in clinical studies and model resource use across different health systems.

2.     Conduct comparative analyses of care pathway costs and assess scalability and sustainability of innovations.

3.     Contribute to policy roadmaps and regulatory guidance for adoption of digital health technologies.

4.     Write scholarly manuscripts and policy briefs for scientific and non-scientific audiences.

5.     Disseminate findings internally at LSE and externally at national and international conferences.

 

 

Candidates should hold a have a PhD, be working towards completion of a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in health economics, public health, health policy, or a related field. You should have strong skills in economic evaluation methods, including cost-effectiveness analysis, experience carrying out policy analysis, and policy analysis, and ideally some familiarity with regulatory frameworks for digital health technologies. Candidates should be motivated by interdisciplinary research and want to work at the intersection of economics, technology, and clinical innovation to answer policy-relevant questions.
