Salary from £30,570 - £35,108 pa inclusive (pro rata), with potential to progress to £37,717 pa inclusive (pro rata)

 

This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months initially and is part time for 2.5 days per week (0.5FTE)

 

 

The Marshall Institute are seeking a part-time Research Assistant to start as soon as possible for the academic year 2021/22.   

 

The Research Assistant will work closely with Dr Roberts and Professor Le Grand on their research and publications in the field of private action for public benefit. They will be involved in identifying and creating case studies, composing literature reviews, writing research bids, data analysis and other research activities.

 

By the time of appointment, applicants should have completed a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) and/or Master’s degree in economics, public policy, management, or other related discipline. They should have both quantitative and qualitative research skills, have strong organisational and planning skills and display a high attention to detail in their work. Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels and to different audiences, and the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and accurate manner. The successful candidate will furthermore bring to the role the ability to manage their own areas of responsibility independently without constant direct supervision, the ability to work under pressure and to multiple deadlines, and a high level of initiative and self-motivation as well as a pro-active and flexible approach to work.
