LSE Cities is an international research centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science that carries out research, education and outreach activities in London and abroad. It studies how people and cities interact in a rapidly urbanising world, focusing on how the physical form and the design of cities impacts on society, culture and the environment.

We are looking for an experienced project manager and researcher to support our European Cities programme - a research, engagement, and capacity building programme on the future of European cities supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies.

The postholder will work with a team of four and manage the programme day to day, with a particular focus on researching what sort of capacity building and executive education/mentoring would be most helpful for European city leaders and developing a proposal for a programme that could provide this support.

Candidates should have experience and knowledge of project management, extensive knowledge of urban governance and policy, experience of working with European city governments and networks to influence policy and practice, in addition to strong analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality analysis in a timely manner, including the ability to analyse and research complex ideas and apply appropriate methodologies.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.
