Senior Data Analyst - CSTCP 

 

Salary from £50,606 to £58,505 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £65,157

pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed term appointment to end July 2027

LSE’s Data and Technology Services division provides services to over 10,000 staff and student users. LSE is undertaking  a Course Selection and Timetabling Change Programme (CSTCP) to address current issues with the systems, processes and operating models that support curriculum management, course selection and timetabling. The programme vision is for access to all LSE’s academic programmes through course selection and timetabling to be fair, efficient, consistent, and reliable.

 

The CSTCP Programme has a data team comprised of one Data & Reporting Lead and two Senior Data Analysts. The Data & Reporting Lead and one Senior Data Analyst have been in post for over a year, and the programme is now recruiting to the second Senior Data Analyst.

 

The Senior Data Analyst will undertake and support a range of data activities under the direction of the Data and Reporting Lead, working closely with the governance of the programme and its constituent projects. They will develop and produce reports and data profiling and analyses using Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, and other data tools to provide management information and insight across the CSTCP systems, services, and end-to-end processes.

 

The Senior Data Analyst will have:

·       Experience of using reporting, analysis, and visualisation tools e.g. Tableau or PowerBI in addition to strong experience of using Excel to work with data.

·       Strong knowledge and experience of SQL with the ability to write and understand complex queries.

·       Proven experience in data profiling and analysis.

·       Advanced organisational skills including the ability to organise, facilitate and lead workshops to gather requirements, analyse options and develop solutions.

 

Knowledge of the higher education sector would be desirable but is not essential.

 

LSE is a campus-based university and staff are expected to attend the London campus in fulfilling their role. For this particular role, we can accept applications from all parts of the UK, provided the applicant is able to travel periodically to the London campus.
