Assistant Professorial Research Fellow: RCS-LSE Global Surgery Policy Unit

Salary is no less than £56,814 per annum (pay award pending) and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website 

This is a fixed term appointment for 3 years.

You will join the RCS-LSE Global Surgery Policy Unit, a new research unit hosted by the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng) and the LSE Department of Health Policy. The Unit aims to advance global surgery and anaesthesia-related health economics, systems strengthening capacity development, research, public health policy, advocacy and engagement.

You will carry out and publish research in surgical policy and economics, and engage actively with policymakers to become a thought-leader in policy to improve access to safe, affordable and high-quality surgical care.

The successful candidate will have a completed, or be about to complete, a Ph.D in health economics, health policy or a related discipline. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience leading health economic research in low-resource settings. Candidates are also expected to have a track-record or trajectory of peer-reviewed publications in high-ranking, internationally recognised academic journals and excellent written and oral communications skills.
