The LSE School of Public Policy equips students with the skills and ideas to transform people and societies. We are an international community where ideas and practice meet, creating professionals with the ability to analyse, understand and resolve the challenges of contemporary governance.
We are now seeking to appoint a highly organised and motivated Events and Department Affairs Officer to support the delivery of SPP events for the public, staff and students. The postholder will work closely with the Events and Engagement Manager to plan, promote and deliver the department’s busy events programme, including liaising with academic staff and high-profile speakers. They will also work across teams to support the wider department, including running internal communications and supporting academic visitors.
You should have experience of organising events of varying sizes and types, including seminars workshops and conferences. You will also have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to use both tact and diplomacy when working with people at various levels of seniority. Excellent time-management and organisational skills are also essential as the postholder will be expected to juggle competing demands to ensure the successful delivery of the department’s event programmes.
The SPP is a dynamic global community in the heart of London. It offers eight master’s programmes, including three double degree programmes with international partner universities and two executive level programmes. The department’s student community currently represents over 60 nationalities who all share a passion for making an impact through public policies around the world.
