Environmental Manager
Salary from £30,570 to £35,108 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £37,717 pa inclusive of London allowance
LSE is recruiting for an Environmental Manager who will lead on implementing practical initiatives to reduce LSE’s environmental impacts with a particular focus on waste and resources management. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small team of sustainability experts who are passionate about making a difference, and an organisation with a longstanding commitment to sustainability.
Located in the heart of central London, LSE is one of the world’s leading universities. This role is based in the Estates Division, which manages LSE’s central London campus and halls of residence. Working as a member of the Sustainability Team, the post holder will manage and maintain LSE’s ISO 14001 / 50001 joint-certified Environmental and Energy Management System, deliver initiatives to reduce the School’s environmental impacts, and lead on the Schools’ approach to waste management including managing waste contracts.
Candidates should have proven knowledge and experience in the field of environmental and waste management, ideally gained in an Estates or Facilities management setting, and knowledge of UK environmental and waste management legislation. Candidates should be able to deal efficiently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, and a proven track record of driving the successful delivery of practical environmental initiatives and projects.
