Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method

Student Experience and Programme Engagement Officer

Salary from £36,513 to £41,565 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £44,468pa inclusive of London allowance

The Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method, founded by Professor Sir Karl Popper in 1946, is an internationally renowned centre for philosophy that is both intellectually rigorous and socially relevant.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused Student Experience and Programme Engagement Officer to join our Programmes Delivery team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in enhancing the student experience across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Working closely with Programme Managers, academic colleagues, student representatives, alumni and professional services teams, you will support initiatives that strengthen student belonging, engagement, community and student voice throughout the student journey.

You will lead the coordination of Student-Staff Liaison Committees (SSLCs), helping to ensure that student feedback is heard, acted upon and communicated effectively. You will also support the delivery of a broad range of student-facing activities and events, including induction, student engagement initiatives, community-building activities, open days, alumni engagement opportunities and graduation-related events. A key aspect of the role will be helping to create an inclusive and welcoming environment in which all students feel connected to the Department and able to participate fully in departmental life.

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering high-quality administrative support, coordinating activities or events, and managing competing priorities in a busy environment. You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience of working with students, supporting engagement activities, gathering and responding to feedback, or working within a higher education environment would be advantageous. We are particularly interested in candidates who are enthusiastic about student engagement, committed to delivering excellent service, and motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact on the student experience.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave entitlement and excellent training and development opportunities.
