Communications Coordinator

 

Salary from £33,558 to £38,451 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £41,404 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years

 

The Department of International Relations is seeking to appoint a proactive and motivated Communications Coordinator who will act as first point of contact for all Department communications and take the lead on internal and external departmental focused communications, ensuring that key messages are disseminated effectively to range of audiences.  They will implement, maintain and develop the Departments’ communication and engagement strategy, manage external and internal communications for a range of audiences, and develop the Department’s social media presence, proactively working to expand audiences and engagement, and enhancing the visibility of the Departments’ research and teaching.

Candidates should have demonstrable administrative experience, preferably in a communications role, and experience of utilising social media tools in a professional context.  They should have excellent written and verbal communications skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and be able to maintain a high standard of service delivery.  They should have experience in managing their own workload to meet multiple deadlines, prioritising task and using their own initiative to solve day to day problem.
