Research Manager

 

Salary from £39,313 to £47,148 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £50,614 pa inclusive

 

The Department of Gender Studies is the largest of its kind in Europe and is a recognised hub of global expertise in the study of gender. The Department pioneers intersectional, interdisciplinary and transnational teaching and research and is a focus for gender research across LSE.

 

The Department seeks to appoint an experienced and highly motivated individual to manage its PhD programme and ensure the effective delivery of its programme of research activities and related events.

 

Working closely with senior faculty, the post holder will ensure outstanding levels of service delivery on the PhD programme and play a key role in the development and delivery of a wide-ranging portfolio of research activities. The post holder will also have line-management and budget management responsibilities.

 

Applicants must have a university degree (or equivalent) and relevant experience of working in higher education, preferably in a student-facing environment. Alongside excellent time-management skills and outstanding attention to detail, the successful candidate will have the ability to develop and manage effective administrative systems and processes. They will understand the needs of different stakeholders and practice inclusive decision-making in order to provide outstanding service to students and colleagues at all times. They will have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to use their initiative to resolve complex, unprecedented problems.
