Finance, Projects and Facilities Officer

 

Salary from £30,570 to £32,284 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £35,108 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

Due to internal promotion and departmental expansion the Department of Mathematics is currently recruiting 2 Professional Services Staff positions. This Finance, Projects and Facilities Officer role and please see also our Teaching Support Officer role.

 

 

The Department of Mathematics is appointing an organised, enthusiastic and proactive person to join its small, dedicated Professional Services Team. The postholder takes responsibility for preparing and processing expense claims and invoices for a number of Departmental budgets and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained. The postholder is first point of contact and responsible for monitoring, maintaining and developing departmental facilities for staff and students.

 

The postholder will be flexible, confident technically and willing to learn and develop skills to enhance systems and processes in the Department.

 

Candidates should have: 

  • Demonstrable experience of working in an academic or similar environment in an administrative capacity.
  • Experience of systematically/methodically approaching routine tasks.
  • Excellent numeracy and communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills and the confidence and willingness to learn new systems/software as required.
  •  A proactive, solution-focused attitude and approach taken to all projects, whilst working within guidelines.
