Teaching Support Officer
Salary from £30,570 to £32,284 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £35,108 pa inclusive of London allowance
Due to internal promotion and departmental expansion the Department of Mathematics is currently recruiting 2 Professional Services Staff positions. This Teaching Support Officer role and please see also our Finance, Projects and Facilities Officer role.
The Department of Mathematics is appointing an organised, enthusiastic and proactive person to join its small, dedicated Professional Services Team. The postholder will provide a comprehensive professional service related to delivery of undergraduate and Master's level teaching in the Department of Mathematics. They will support our class teaching team and our Deputy Head (Teaching).
They will service the Department’s Teaching Committee and associated working groups and support teaching quality reviews and processes. They will be confident technically and willing to learn and develop skills to enhance and deliver teaching-related systems and processes in the Department.
Candidates should have:
- Demonstrable experience of working in an academic or similar environment in an administrative capacity.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise and systematically manage a demanding and varied workload to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and accurate correspondence and documentation.
- Excellent IT skills and the confidence and willingness to learn new systems/software as required.
- A solution-focused attitude and approach taken to all projects, whilst working within guidelines.
