Department of Law

LSE Fellow (up to two posts available)

Salary is competitive and not less than £36,647 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for two years

The Law Department is seeking to appoint two fixed-term LSE Fellows.

The objective of the Fellowships is to provide a development opportunity for those who have exceptional potential in legal research and scholarship. During the two year appointment, LSE Fellows have the opportunity to develop their teaching experience, as well as their research trajectory. The fellowship is not restricted to any particular area of legal study.  Fellows are expected to contribute to class teaching on the undergraduate degree programme and other teaching on the undergraduate or postgraduate programme as may be available.  While our class teaching needs can arise in all core areas of the undergraduate curriculum, we particularly welcome applicants who can teach in the area of competition or technology law.

Candidates should have a PhD in Law, or be close to completing one by the post start date.  In addition you will have research expertise in an area of law with potential to develop a body of high-quality publications in peer reviewed journals and potential to develop a national/international reputation for research in the area of your expertise.  Relevant teaching experience including assessing courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level would be an advantage.  You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills and a capacity to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment for students.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities.

For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.

An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position.  As such, applicants who have already been employed as an LSE Fellow for three years in total are not eligible to apply. If you have any queries about this, please contact the HR Division.
