Hellenic Observatory Manager
Salary from £37,197 to £44,802 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £48,168 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a full-time appointment, open-ended subject to funding.
The Hellenic Observatory (HO) is looking to recruit an outstanding manager to head a varied role in managing the unit’s finance, human resources, events, communication, and operational activities. The post holder will work closely with the HO Director and Deputy Director.
The key responsibilities of the role are to line manage the HO Administrator, to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the HO Events programme, the budgetary processes and financial reporting as well as overseeing administration and the HR processes; allocating resources and tasks to ensure service quality, efficiency and continuity.
Candidates should have substantial management experience, preferable in a Higher Education environment, experience in events organisation and strong background of budget management. The successful candidate will have proven ability to effectively organise resources across multiple activities and experience of autonomous decision making. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships is also critical to the position. Knowledge of Modern Greek is essential.
