Assistant Professor in Law (Socio-Legal Studies)

To support our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes and to strengthen further our research profile, we are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Socio-Legal Studies.
The post holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in high quality teaching as instructed by the Dean of the Law School, and participating in the School and wider Law School activities.
Candidates should have the ability, as evidenced by existing publications or potential to publish in top journals, and to establish an international reputation in Socio-Legal Studies (to include socio-legal approaches to the study of family law, racial justice and access to justice or empirical legal studies). Candidates will have a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications. Candidates should have a PhD in Law or its research equivalent (or be close to obtaining a PhD) by the post start date and be committed to high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students.
