Programme Administrator (Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity programme)

 

Salary from £29,935 to £33,104 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £35,441 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team of The Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) programme housed at LSE International Inequalities Institute that brings changemakers together to share knowledge, insights and hope as part of the programme’s 20-year mission to support hundreds of thinkers, doers and change-makers. The AFSEE programme is looking for a self-motivated, initiative taking individual with a proactive approach to problem solving and excellent organisational and communication skills to join a dynamic team.

The Programme Administrator role provides administrative and logistical support to the staff and Fellows of the AFSEE programme, supporting the work of the programme in delivering its activities.

Candidates should have:

  • Administrative experience with particular focus on travel and logistical management
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and ability to acquire working knowledge of new software and technologies
  • Demonstrable motivation to work in an administrative role in higher education
  • Ability to contribute actively to the team to meet objectives
  • Excellent command of the English language and the ability to understand and convey information in a clear and accurate manner both orally and in writing
  • Ability to draft correspondence and other documents with accuracy, showing good presentational skills and an eye for detail
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with staff and external contacts at all levels, demonstrating discretion where appropriate
  • Ability to make decisions and use initiative and to manage tasks with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to exercise judgement in relaying important, confidential, and sensitive information to various parties
  • Highly organised and ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and work to deadlines
