Research Assistant

Salary from £36,513 to £41,565 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £44,468 pa inclusive of London allowance.

Funding is available to support this position for one year.

We are looking to hire a highly-skilled and motivated individual to work under the direction of Professor Sandra Sequeira. The job will entail close collaboration on a number of new and ongoing projects on a broad range of topics in applied microeconomics, development economics and political economy, using “big data” and experimental and quasi-experimental methods to identify causal effects and test the predictions of economic models.

The successful candidate should have a completed Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and/or a completed (or nearly completed) Master’s degree in economics or other closely related discipline, strong quantitative and data analysis skills, strong programming skills and confidence with the use of different data management software and the ability to manage own areas of responsibility independently without constant direct supervision. Experience in Stata and Python is essential, and machine learning is desirable.
