Salary from £32,960 to £37,705 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £40,432 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed term appointment until 30 June 2024 and is open to full time and part time (minimum 20 hours per week) applicants

 

The London School of Economics and Political Science is looking for a Public Affairs Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term contract. This is an exciting entry-level role for a recent graduate or early-career public affairs professional looking to gain more experience of public affairs and communications in a fast-moving, friendly environment.

 

LSE has confirmed its position as a world-leading research university and its research spans the full breadth of the social sciences, from economics, politics and law to sociology, anthropology and finance.

 

The post holder will support the implementation of strategies to develop and strengthen LSE’s relationship with politicians, policymakers and opinion formers and serve the School’s interests, both in the promotion of academic expertise and in anticipating and responding to developments that effect LSE’s business and reputation. The post holder will play a key role in providing administrative support for stakeholder engagement work and helping the Public Affairs team plan for and execute its plans around political party conferences in the autumn and thematic set piece event delivery into 2024.

 

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in politics and a good understanding of the current political climate in the UK and beyond. They will have strong communication and organisational skills and be self-motivated and a great team player. This is a great opportunity to learn about working in politics and public affairs in a friendly, highly-motivated team.
