Research Manager

Salary from £40,229 to £42,614 pa with potential to progress to £48,456 pa inclusive of London allowance.

The Department of Mathematics is keen to appoint a proactive and experienced Research Manager to join the small, dedicated Professional Services Team.

The postholder will take responsibility for the administrative management of our MPhil/PhD programme and Research Student support, research grants and funding, research seminars and events and provide a comprehensive administrative service to the staff of the Department. They will be the line manager of the Research and Networking Support Officer.

Applicants should have previous relevant administrative experience and strong IT skills, together with excellent attention to detail and the ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and service delivery skills, and the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a range of colleagues, are essential. Experience of working in an academic or similar environment in an administrative capacity is essential. Experience of supporting academic research in Higher Education would be an advantage.
