Research Officer in Women’s Rights After War

 

 

Salary: £36,647 per annum

 

Fixed term 12 month appointment starting July 2021

 

The Gender, Justice and Security Hub is a five year project working at the overlap of Sustainable Development Goal 5 on gender equality; SDG 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions; and the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda. With partners around the world, at LSE the Hub is housed in the Centre for Women, Peace and Security.

 

We seek a post-doctoral Research Officer to undertake independent and collaborative research and support co-ordination and dissemination activities in the Women’s Rights After War project, which is led by Co-Investigators based at LSE and the University of Denver.

 

The postholder will have a PhD in political science, sociology or a related discipline and experience or training in utilising quantitative research methods. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working with subnational data, and an interest in questions pertaining to gender and politics, the intersection of gender and other identities, and / or gender and conflict. They will have a record of high-quality research and writing in the fields of subnational politics and / or political gender quotas and / or gender and conflict. Experience of conducting complex fieldwork and / or working with partners to collect original data in conflict-affected contexts would be an advantage, as would knowledge of one or more of the project countries.
