LACC-Canning House Research Officer

 

Salary from £36,647 to £44,140 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £47,456 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed term appointment for 36 months

 

 

The Latin America and Caribbean Centre (LACC) is a research centre that serves as a focal point for LSE’s research and public engagement with Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

Applications are invited from outstanding researchers for a thirty-six month Research Officer post to support the LACC-Canning House Forum, a programme of research on the future of Latin America and the Caribbean with particular reference to relations between the region and the United Kingdom. The programme is organised as a series of consecutive projects, of between 12-18 months each, with the first to be focused on trade.

 

The post-holder will develop the Forum programme, conduct original research, engage with policy-makers, private companies and think-tanks both in the UK and the region, and undertake knowledge exchange through peer review papers, workshop and conference presentations, blogs and social media. The job holder will work under the guidance of the Centre Director. 

 

The Research Officer will have a PhD in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, Geography, International History, International Relations, Management, or another related social science relevant to the successful conduct of the research project and familiarity with research about the United Kingdom’s relationship with Latin America and the Caribbean. The candidate will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
