Assistant Professorial Lecturer in Data Science
Salaries will be on the appropriate salary scale and will be commensurate with experience, taking into account pay equity within the Department.
The salary scale starts at £56,814 per annum (pay award pending) and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website.
Based in the Data Science Institute, the post holder will have a proven track record of providing excellent academic and pastoral support, academic activities to enhance the student experience, and teaching. They will be expected to deliver excellence in course design, delivery and management, along with inspirational teaching, a demonstrable contribution to student learning and advising, and to the educational, administrative and collegial activities of the Institute. Please note that this is an Education Career Track post. Candidates for this post should have a track record of excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to education.
Candidates must have a completed PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics or a related subject by the post start date. They will have expertise in the field of applied data science to a demonstrably high level and a strong track record in teaching as well as a commitment to high-quality inclusive teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for all students. Candidates should have an ability to teach data science at undergraduate level with interdisciplinary applications to social science problems. They should have strong interpersonal and networking skills that enable the development of internal and external networks. Experience of course level leadership, including course design, delivery and management is desirable.
