Senior Research Compliance Manager
12 months fixed term (maternity cover)
Salary from £53,949 to £62,160 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £69,073 pa inclusive of London allowance
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. LSE is a vibrant and cosmopolitan community in the heart of London, with a diverse staff and student body.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Compliance Manager to join our Research Awards team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our research activities comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Additionally, you will have line management responsibilities, overseeing two Research Awards Administrative Assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure research compliance across all departments.
- Monitor and audit research activities to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to staff members on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Lead and manage a team of two Research Awards Administrative Assistants, including performance evaluations and professional development.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards related to research compliance.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A degree or equivalent with a relevant professional qualification in a management, legal or finance field or equivalent experience.
- Substantial experience of identifying opportunities to improve internal systems and procedures and then developing and implementing the process to deliver change.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, proven ability to explain complex regulatory and compliance concepts to non-specialists.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams and managing projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying compliance issues and implementing solutions.
