Project Manager, Just Transition Finance Lab

 

 

Salary from £37,197 to £48,168 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed term appointment, until 31 December 2026, with extension subject to further funding.

 

The Grantham Research Institute is a world-leading centre for the study of the economics and social sciences of climate change and other global environmental problems, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The Institute’s work has been recognised through the award of the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education 2020-22.

 

Working within the recently launched Just Transition Finance Lab, the role covers a wide range of project management, delivery, communication, and project governance activities. The post holder will provide regular coordination of research and policy projects liaising with the project team as well as with external partners, funders and policy makers. They will coordinate and document the status of deliverables and decision points for the project team, including those related to work plans, budgets, commissioned work, and reports to funders, and will support co-ordination of research-based policy outputs, dissemination, and engagement activities. The postholder will work closely with the Executive Director and Deputy Director to refine and implement processes for the effective operation of the Lab.

 

Candidates will have an undergraduate degree in the social sciences, and demonstrable work experience in a university environment, or equivalent demonstrable project management experience of policy-oriented research activity. With experience in project coordination and delivery, co-ordinating the activity of others including of those with senior roles, and experience of developing and maintaining records including budget planning, the post holder will also have excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise workloads whilst maintaining high attention to detail and work standards. With excellent communication skills they will also build effective and productive working relations within the team and with project partners.
