Institute Administrator

£33,558 to £38,541 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £41,404 inclusive of London allowance 

 
This is a fixed term appointment for 3 years with potential to extend subject to funding

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised administrator to join a small but rapidly expanding team in LSE’s newest institute in a priority area for the School and the social sciences generally: data science. The Institute Administrator role offers considerable scope for the development of responsibilities to expand your current skill set in the areas of executive support and the administration of a teaching and research institute, supporting the Institute’s governance processes and communications.

The role includes:

 

·       General office duties and facilities management

·       Arranging meetings and minute-taking

·       Travel bookings

·       Budget management and expense claims

·       Assisting with events

·       Supporting HR activities such as recruitment, and managing the application processes for our Affiliates, Visiting Appointments and Visiting Research Students

 

We are looking for an individual with:

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey information in a clear and accurate manner

·       Ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and work to deadlines across a varied workload

·       Excellent IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records

·       A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

·       Ability to provide a high standard of service to internal and external stakeholders

·       Experience of working in the higher education sector, including teaching and research administration (desirable)

·       Ability to work collaboratively in a team under limited supervision

Working alongside the academic departments across the School, the DSI's mission is to foster the study of data science and new forms of data with a focus on their social, economic, and political aspects.
