Research Assistant, Public Economics Programme

 

Salary from £30,570 to £35,108 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £37,717 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

 This is a fixed term appointment for 1 year

 

We are looking for up to five highly skilled and motivated individuals to join a group of LSE researchers under the direction of Camille Landais, Johannes Spinnewijn, Xavier Jaravel and Daniel Reck. The job will entail close collaboration on a number of new and ongoing projects on a broad range of topics in applied microeconomics with applications to economic policy, using “big data” and quasi-experimental methods to identify causal effects and test the predictions of economic and sociological models.

 

The successful candidate should have a a completed Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and/or a completed (or nearly completed) Master’s degree in economics or other closely related discipline, strong quantitative and data analysis skills, strong programming skills and confidence with the use of different data management software and the ability to manage own areas of responsibility independently without constant direct supervision . Experience in Stata, SAS or Matlab is essential.
