Match Trading is an innovation in grant funding that is designed to support the ongoing sustainability of local social trading organisations. The project has been developed with the School for Social Entrepreneurs, and will run for at least the next two years, with the aim of expanding on the current understanding of this grant-making mechanism, its effects upon the processes, objectives and activities of social businesses and its contribution to sustainable social impact. The project is led by Dr Jonathan Roberts and Professor Sir Julian Le Grand.
The Research Assistant will be expected to collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data from community businesses and social enterprises that have received Match Trading grants. The role will involve designing, organising and conducting the collection of data through interview and survey mechanisms, and analysing the data collected from these and other sources using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods. The Research Assistant may undertake a range of other activities, including carrying out literature reviews, contributing to the drafting of project reports and papers, and supporting the dissemination of findings to a range of stakeholders. As a core member of the project team, the Research Assistant will be expected to work closely with Dr Roberts and Professor Le Grand, the School of Social Entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
