Research Officer in Animal Sentience

 

 

Salary from £38,313 pa to £46,148 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £49,614 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed-term appointment for 2 years

 

A post-doctoral Research Officer in Animal Sentience is being recruited for Dr Jonathan Birch’s Foundations of Animal Sentience (ASENT) project, funded by the European Research Council. The position is tenable for two years. The successful candidate will conduct innovative and significant research as part of the ASENT team.

 

The successful applicant will;

·       have successfully completed or be close to completing a PhD in a relevant discipline, such as Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Animal Welfare Science or Philosophy by the post start date;

·       have a strong research interest in animal consciousness/sentience;

·       have the ability to make significant, innovative contributions in this area;

·       be willing to work harmoniously and closely with their fellow team-members on the ASENT project.

 

Ideally, the successful applicant will begin in January 2023.
