Professor in Practice in Public Policy
Salaries will be on the appropriate salary scale and will be commensurate with experience, taking into account pay equity within the Department.

This is a fixed term appointment for three years.
The LSE School of Public Policy equip students with the skills and ideas to transform people and societies. We are an international community where ideas and practice meet, creating professionals with the ability to analyse, understand and resolve the challenges of contemporary governance.
A Professor in Practice will have a high standing and reputation in their field that will enhance the School’s reputation for excellence in teaching, public engagement and/or research. They will have a demonstrable track record of senior professional experience in business and/or public affairs; an extensive network of contacts and a preparedness to leverage such contacts in the interests of the LSE; excellent presentational skills; and the ability to relate to and to enthuse graduate students.
The post-holder will develop taught courses in public policy within their academic and practitioner specialism and will contribute to seminars and/or the supervision of Capstone projects, as agreed with the Academic Director and the Dean of the School of Public Policy. The post-holder will help to support a rich and engaging learning environment for our high-calibre students; will also undertake their own research and through LSE’s networks in appropriate fields; and will be expected to further develop his/her networks in the policy-making community and to leverage these contacts for the benefit of our students through curriculum enrichment, research projects and guest speakers.
The post-holder will join LSE’s world-leading and vibrant research community in the social sciences. Faculty of the School of Public Policy will ensure the integration of the post-holder into that research community, in which they will be expected to play a full part.
Candidates must have substantial experience of high-level policy making and a high standing and reputation in a professional field relevant to the teaching and scholarship of the LSE School of Public Policy. A PhD is not an essential requirement for this post but is desirable; good understanding of the academic scholarship that underpins policy-making and practice is however essential. Candidates require excellent written and oral communication skills preferably with some relevant teaching experience at the graduate level. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate an ability to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment.
